A child's play, the gardeners' rest, and the company of luminous mountain-beings conjure an air of supernatural tenderness in this letter in memory of my father. Different cosmic and spiritual forces reveal a web of mutual care between the living and the dead.
Director statement:
In this film, I was interested in exploring an emotional space of wonder and re-enchantment. Mixing a filming exercise with our own syncretic ritual, we played with my family, honoring life and the ephemeral in a valley near La Vega, Cundinamarca, Colombia—the place where, shortly before, we had buried my father's ashes. |
El juego de un niño, el descanso de los jardineros y la compañía de seres luminosos de la montaña conjuran un aire de ternura sobrenatural en esta carta fílmica en memoria de mi padre. Distintas fuerzas cósmicas y espirituales revelan una red de cuidado mutuo entre vivos y muertos.
Nota del director:
En esta película, me interesaba explorar un espacio emocional de asombro y reencantamiento. Mezclando el ejercicio de rodaje con nuestro ritual sincrético propio, jugamos junto a mi familia, honrando la vida y lo efímero en un valle cerca de La Vega, Cundinamarca, Colombia, sitio donde, poco antes, enterramos las cenizas de mi padre.
